The Crucial CT2000BX500SSD1 is a 2TB BX500 Series 2.5-inch SATA III solid state drive built on 3D TLC NAND. It is rated for sequential reads up to 540 MB/s and sequential writes up to 500 MB/s, which is the practical ceiling of the SATA III interface rather than a limit of the flash behind it. Endurance is rated at 720 TBW and the drive operates from 0C to 70C. It is supplied in bulk packs of 100.
Mainstream 2.5-inch SATA SSDs at 2TB sell overwhelmingly as upgrades and refurbishment stock: replacing hard drives in desktops and notebooks that have no M.2 slot, adding bulk flash as a secondary drive, and filling capacity in small NAS units, media servers, DVRs and surveillance recorders. SATA III is precisely why the part still moves - the 2.5-inch bay and SATA cable are what an installed machine already has, so no adapter or motherboard change is involved. Because the sequential figures sit at the interface ceiling, the drive is interface-limited rather than flash-limited, which means a faster NVMe device would deliver nothing extra in the same slot. Buyers should note this is a consumer-class drive without power-loss protection and is not a substitute for a datacenter SSD in a write-heavy or always-on role.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
