The ISSI IS25LP128F-JBLE-TR is a 128Mbit (16MB) serial NOR flash memory supplied in an 8-pin SOIC package on tape and reel. It supports a Quad SPI serial interface for code and data storage. NOR flash provides random-access reads at the byte level, so the IS25LP128F-JBLE-TR can be read directly by a host processor without an intermediate controller.
Serial NOR flash of this density is used to hold boot code, firmware images and configuration data in embedded systems. Common hosts include microcontrollers, network and industrial controllers, set-top and automotive modules, and FPGA configuration storage. The 8-pin SOIC footprint is chosen where board space is less constrained than in WSON or BGA designs and hand rework must remain practical.
