The Texas Instruments LM75BIMMX-3/NOPB is an industry-standard digital temperature sensor with an I2C and SMBus interface, listed at 2°C accuracy over a 3.0V to 5.5V supply. It is supplied in an 8-pin VSSOP surface-mount package measuring 3mm by 3mm with a 1.07mm height and a 970µm body thickness. The LM75BIMMX-3/NOPB covers a wide operating range of -55°C to 125°C and is lead free, RoHS compliant and supplied on tape and reel.
LM75-class digital temperature sensors are used for thermal monitoring and over-temperature shutdown across servers, networking equipment, power supplies, industrial controllers and consumer electronics, and the register map has become a de facto standard that many designs are written against. The I2C and SMBus interface lets several sensors share one bus at different addresses, so a single controller can map temperature across a whole board or chassis. The -55°C to 125°C range covers industrial and outdoor installations as well as internal hot spots. Board designers frequently choose this family when replacing or second-sourcing an existing LM75 footprint.
