The Texas Instruments TMP432ADGSR is a dual remote and local temperature sensor supplied in a 10-pin VSSOP measuring 3mm by 3mm with a 1.07mm height. A remote temperature sensor reads the forward voltage of an external diode-connected transistor - typically the thermal diode built into a CPU, GPU, FPGA or power stage - so it reports the junction temperature of the device being protected rather than the air around it. Per the product title this part applies automatic beta, n-factor and series-resistance correction, which removes the calibration error that otherwise appears when a generic sensor is paired with a specific target die. It is specified from -40C to 125C with gold contact plating, lead-free and RoHS compliant; note the record holds no supply voltage, interface, measurement range or accuracy attributes at all, so every electrical specification must be taken from the manufacturer datasheet.

Remote temperature sensors provide the thermal telemetry behind fan control, throttling and over-temperature shutdown in servers, network switches, storage controllers and graphics or accelerator cards, by reading the thermal diode inside the processor or ASIC itself. They are also placed to watch power-stage and known board hotspots in high-density designs, and in projectors, industrial drives, telecom line cards and laser equipment where an over-temperature event is a safety or warranty issue. Two remote channels let a single device cover two dies, or a die plus a board hotspot, which halves both the sensor count and the number of bus addresses consumed in a dense design. The automatic beta and n-factor correction is what allows the same sensor part to follow a processor roadmap across generations without a recalibration exercise each time.
