The Texas Instruments ISO1042BDWVR is a galvanically isolated CAN transceiver with 70 V bus fault protection and support for CAN flexible data rate (CAN FD). It uses split supply rails, with the record listing 1.71 V to 1.89 V and 4.5 V to 5.5 V ranges plus a 2.25 V minimum option, and is rated -40 C to 125 C with a 150 C maximum junction temperature. ISO1042BDWVR is supplied in an 8-pin SOIC measuring 5.85 mm x 7.5 mm x 2.8 mm, RoHS compliant, on tape and reel.
An isolated CAN transceiver breaks the ground path between the bus and the local controller, protecting the microcontroller from ground-potential differences and surge events on long cable runs. The 70 V bus fault rating means a shorted or miswired bus line does not destroy the transceiver. CAN FD support raises payload size and data-phase rate over classical CAN. Typical applications are EV charging stations, traction inverters and battery management, solar inverters, industrial motor drives, building automation, and factory networks where nodes sit on separate ground references.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
