The Texas Instruments ISO7742DBQR is a reinforced quad-channel digital isolator in a 16-pin SSOP package, with two of its four channels running in each direction. It works from supplies of 2.25V to 5.5V, is specified from -55°C to 125°C, and carries a 150°C maximum junction temperature. The ISO7742DBQR is supplied on tape and reel and is recorded as RoHS non-compliant.

Digital isolators carry logic signals across a galvanic barrier so that circuitry on either side can sit at very different ground potentials, and a reinforced rating certifies the barrier as equivalent to two layers of basic isolation for safety-critical use. The 16-pin SSOP body makes the ISO7742DBQR a notably compact way to get four channels across a barrier, which matters when isolation has to be added to an already dense board. Two channels in each direction map naturally onto an SPI link, a control line with a status return, or a PWM command paired with a fault signal coming back from a drive stage.
