The Texas Instruments SE555DR is a precision single timer capable of operating over an extended -55°C to 125°C temperature range. It runs from a 4.5V to 18V supply, operates at frequencies to 100k Hz, and drives 200mA at both high and low output levels while drawing a nominal 4mA of supply current. The timer is supplied in an 8-pin SOIC surface-mount package measuring 4.9mm by 3.91mm by 1.75mm with gold contact plating, on tape and reel. It is lead free, RoHS compliant, in production, and rated to a 150°C maximum junction temperature.

Timers of this type are configured as monostable one-shots for pulse generation and delay, or as astable oscillators for clock, tone, blinking, and pulse-width modulation duties, with the period set by an external resistor and capacitor. The 200mA output drive allows the timer to switch relays, LEDs, small solenoids, and buzzers directly without an added driver stage. Its extended -55°C to 125°C range makes the SE555DR suitable for industrial, aerospace-adjacent, and other harsh-environment designs where commercial-grade timers fall short. Engineers also use it for sequencing, missing-pulse detection, and simple time-delay supervision on power-up.
