The Texas Instruments ADS1018QDGSRQ1 is an automotive-qualified 12-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter with a single conversion core and a four-channel input multiplexer, sampling at up to 3.3ksps over an SPI interface. It operates from a 2V to 5.5V supply with a 3.3V nominal rail, consumes only 900µW, and is specified with 0.5LSB integral nonlinearity on unipolar conversions. The device is supplied in a 10-pin VSSOP surface-mount package measuring 3mm by 3mm by 1.07mm on tape and reel. It is lead free, RoHS compliant, in production, and rated for -40°C to 125°C operation.

Small delta-sigma converters like this one are used to add accurate analog measurement to a system whose microcontroller lacks a suitable on-chip ADC, covering temperature, pressure, current, and battery voltage sensing across several inputs through the built-in multiplexer.
