The ADC128D818CIMTX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a 12-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter with eight analog inputs and an I2C interface, supplied in a 16-pin TSSOP. Eight-input I2C converters of this kind are used for system health and supply-rail monitoring inside servers, network switches, base stations, industrial computers and instrumentation, where a management controller must poll a set of voltages and sensor outputs over the same bus it already uses for temperature sensors and EEPROMs. The slow sample rate is not a limitation for rail monitoring, where the values of interest change over seconds rather than microseconds.
