The Analog Devices ADAU1361BCPZ-R7 is a stereo low-power audio codec in a 32-pin LFCSP package with an exposed pad. It integrates two A/D converters and two D/A converters for stereo record and playback, supports sampling rates up to 96 ksps, and delivers a 99 dB signal-to-noise ratio. The ADAU1361BCPZ-R7 is configured over I2C or SPI and carries audio over a serial interface, operating from a 1.8 V to 3.3 V supply across a -40 C to 85 C range. An audio codec combines the ADC, DAC, and analog input and output routing in one device so a processor exchanges only digital audio frames with it.

Low-power stereo codecs of this class are used in portable and battery-powered audio: headsets and headphones, portable recorders, intercom and conferencing endpoints, voice-enabled IoT devices, musical-instrument and effects hardware, and the audio front end of embedded Linux and DSP boards. The 1.8 V to 3.3 V supply range and low-power design suit devices where audio runs continuously on battery, while 96 ksps and 99 dB SNR support high-quality rather than voice-only capture. The exposed-pad LFCSP requires a thermal and ground pad in the board layout.
