The SN74LVTH245APWR from Texas Instruments is an 8-bit non-inverting bidirectional bus transceiver with three-state outputs, supplied in a 20-pin TSSOP package. It operates from 2.7V to 3.6V with a nominal 3.3V supply and a propagation delay of 3.5ns. The SN74LVTH245APWR sinks 64mA and sources 32mA at its outputs, draws a 100µA quiescent current, and is rated from -40°C to 85°C.
A bus transceiver passes data in either direction between two buses under the control of a direction pin, with a separate output enable that isolates both sides when the device is not selected. The high 64mA sink current of the SN74LVTH245APWR lets it drive heavily loaded backplanes and long traces that a standard logic output could not. It is used for memory and peripheral bus buffering, backplane and card-edge interfacing, and isolating subsystems that power down independently. Designers of computing, networking, industrial control, and telecom boards use octal transceivers of this class throughout a digital design.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
