The Texas Instruments SN74LV4051AQPWRQ1 is an automotive-qualified general-purpose analog multiplexer and demultiplexer that switches eight channels through a single common circuit. It runs from a single 2V to 5.5V supply, offers 35M Hz bandwidth with a 1.5ns propagation delay and roughly 75Ω of switch resistance, and draws only 20µA to 40µA of supply current. The device is supplied in a 16-pin TSSOP surface-mount package measuring 5mm by 4.4mm by 1.2mm on tape and reel. It is lead free, RoHS compliant, and currently in production.
Analog multiplexers of this type are used to share a single analog-to-digital converter input, amplifier, or measurement path among several sensors or signal sources under digital control. Running the part in reverse as a demultiplexer lets one driver output be steered to any of eight destinations, which is common in channel-select and test-point routing circuits.
