The Texas Instruments TXB0108RGYR is an 8-bit bidirectional voltage-level shifter with automatic direction sensing and ±15 kV ESD protection. It supports supply voltages from 1.2 V to 5.5 V, data rates up to 100 Mbps, and a 4 ns propagation delay. The device is supplied in a 20-pin VQFN surface-mount package on tape and reel, is RoHS compliant, and operates from -40°C to 85°C.
The TXB0108RGYR is used to interface digital devices operating at different logic voltages, such as a 1.8 V processor communicating with 3.3 V or 5 V peripherals. Its automatic direction sensing simplifies translation of push-pull buses including SPI, UART, and general-purpose I/O. Embedded system and consumer electronics designers use it in mixed-voltage boards where a compact 8-channel translator is needed.
