The TPS2H160BQPWPRQ1 is a 2-channel automotive current-limiting high-side power switch from Texas Instruments in a 16-pin HTSSOP package with an exposed pad. It operates from a 4V to 40V supply with a 155mΩ on-resistance and draws a nominal 7mA. The TPS2H160BQPWPRQ1 provides 2 protected outputs, is rated for -40°C to 125°C ambient operation with a 150°C maximum junction temperature, and is lead free and RoHS compliant.
A high-side power switch replaces a mechanical relay or a discrete MOSFET and fuse combination, connecting a load to the supply while adding current limiting, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown and fault reporting back to the controller. Current limiting matters most on loads with large inrush, such as lamps, heaters and capacitive modules, where an unprotected switch would either trip or be damaged. The 4V to 40V range covers 12V and 24V automotive and industrial buses including load-dump and cold-crank excursions. These devices are designed in by automotive body electronics and industrial I/O engineers who need protected, diagnosable output drivers.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
