The TPS16630RGER is a single-channel e Fuse and hot-swap protection device from Texas Instruments in a 24-pin VQFN package measuring 4 x 4 x 1 mm. It operates from a 4.5 V to 60 V supply with a 30.44 m Ohm on-state resistance and a 6 A output current rating. Nominal supply current is 21 uA and the device is rated to a 125 C maximum junction temperature. An e Fuse integrates the pass FET, current sensing and fault response in one package, replacing a discrete FET, sense resistor and controller.
Wide-input e Fuses protect 12 V, 24 V and 48 V rails in servers, storage arrays, telecom line cards, industrial controllers and hot-pluggable modules, limiting inrush on insertion and disconnecting the load on overcurrent, overvoltage or short-circuit faults. The 60 V ceiling covers 48 V distribution with transient headroom, which is why this class of part appears throughout data-centre and telecom power entry. System and power designers building hot-swappable hardware are the usual buyers. The leadless VQFN body conducts fault-condition heat through its thermal pad, so the board copper design is part of the protection scheme.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
