The Texas Instruments TPS22966DPUR is a dual-channel load switch rated for 6 A of output current, supplied in a 14-pin WSON package with exposed pad. It operates across a 0.8 V to 5.5 V supply range with a 5.5 V nominal input, providing two independently switched outputs. The TPS22966DPUR is a surface-mount, lead-free, RoHS-compliant device rated for -40°C to 105°C operation and supplied on tape and reel.
Load switches are placed between a power rail and a downstream block so firmware can power-gate subsystems that are idle, cutting standby current and controlling the order in which rails come up. Two 6 A channels in a 3 mm x 2 mm body let a designer switch two high-current rails, for example memory and I/O domains, without adding discrete FETs and gate drive. The controlled 2.05 ms turn-on delay limits inrush into bulk capacitance during sequencing. Typical applications include server and networking boards, solid-state storage, industrial computing, and battery-powered systems where rail-level power gating is required.
