The Texas Instruments TLC6C5712QPWPRQ1 is an automotive-qualified 12-bit constant-current sink LED driver with 12 independently controlled channels and 12 outputs. It operates from a 3V to 5.5V input supply, supports PWM dimming at a 1M Hz switching frequency, and its outputs work over a 500mV to 7V range. The TLC6C5712QPWPRQ1 is supplied in a 28-pin surface-mount HTSSOP measuring 9.7mm by 4.4mm with a 1.2mm height, on tape and reel. It is rated for -40 to 125 degrees C operation, is lead free and RoHS compliant, and Texas Instruments lists it in active production.
A constant-current sink LED driver holds each LED string at a set current regardless of forward-voltage variation, which is what keeps brightness and colour matched across a lit assembly, and the TLC6C5712QPWPRQ1 does this for twelve channels from one device. It is aimed at automotive lighting and display backlighting: instrument cluster and centre-stack illumination, ambient and interior lighting, HVAC and switch-panel backlights, and exterior indicator arrays. PWM dimming allows brightness to track ambient light or driver preference without shifting LED colour point, and the 12-channel density reduces part count in clusters driving many small segments. Buyers are automotive tier-one lighting and cockpit-electronics suppliers building to a -40 to 125 degrees C qualification.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
