The Texas Instruments DRV8872DDARQ1 is an automotive-qualified brushed DC motor driver delivering up to 3.6 A output current with integrated fault reporting, operating from a 6.8 V to 45 V supply. It switches at up to 200 k Hz, draws 3 mA nominal supply current, and is rated -40 C to 125 C with a 150 C maximum junction temperature. DRV8872DDARQ1 comes in an 8-pin SO PowerPAD package measuring 4.89 mm x 3.9 mm x 1.7 mm, RoHS compliant, on tape and reel.
An integrated H-bridge brushed DC driver handles direction and speed control plus protection in one device, replacing discrete MOSFETs, gate drive, and current-sense circuitry. The fault-reporting pin lets the host controller detect overcurrent, overtemperature, and undervoltage conditions rather than failing silently. With a 45 V supply rating it covers 12 V and 24 V systems, so typical uses are automotive actuators, mirrors, latches and valves, plus industrial pumps, printers, robotics, and appliance motors.
