The Texas Instruments REF5025AQDRQ1 is an automotive-qualified precision series voltage reference with a fixed 2.5V output, in an 8-pin SOIC package. A series voltage reference supplies a stable, accurate voltage that converters and measurement circuits compare against, so its drift sets the accuracy floor of the whole system. The REF5025AQDRQ1 holds 0.1% initial tolerance with a 3ppm/°C temperature coefficient, accepts a 2.7V to 18V input and sources up to 10mA while drawing 800µA quiescent. It is specified from -40°C to 125°C and shipped on tape and reel.
Precision references set the full-scale accuracy of data acquisition: they supply the reference input to analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue converters, anchor current-sense and strain-gauge measurement chains, and provide stable bias in test and calibration equipment. A 3ppm/°C coefficient is the class of part chosen when the system must hold accuracy across a wide temperature range rather than only at room temperature.
