The Diodes Inc. ZXGD3006E6TA is a single-channel low-side gate driver rated for 10A peak output current from a supply of up to 40V, supplied in a 6-pin SOT-26 measuring 3.1mm by 1.7mm with a 1.3mm height. A gate driver's job is to charge and discharge a MOSFET gate fast enough that the transistor spends minimal time in its linear region, and this part does so with a 48 ns rise time and a 35 ns fall time. It draws only 50 nA of supply current and dissipates up to 1.1W, across a -55C to 150C range. Note the record's maximum operating temperature is given as 150C, identical to the maximum junction temperature, which conflates the ambient rating with the junction rating.
High-peak-current low-side drivers buffer a controller output that cannot itself charge a large MOSFET gate: synchronous rectification and secondary-side switching in offline power supplies, boost and flyback power stages, low-side switches in motor drives, solenoid and injector drivers, and LED or laser pulse drivers where the edge rate sets pulse fidelity. Ten amps of peak drive is what lets a large or paralleled MOSFET switch fast enough to keep switching loss inside the thermal budget - gate charge, not gate voltage, is what limits edge speed. The 40V supply rating means the driver can sit directly on an intermediate bus rather than requiring its own low-voltage rail. Power conversion, industrial motor control and lighting teams commonly add a driver of this type when a PWM controller's own output proves too weak for the FET that was chosen.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
