The Walsin Technologies WR04X103 JTL is a 10 k Ohm thick film chip resistor in an 0402 case, with a 5% tolerance, a 62.5 mW (1/16 W) power rating and a 100 ppm/C temperature coefficient. Thick film construction screens a resistive paste onto a ceramic substrate and laser-trims it to value, which is what makes it the lowest-cost resistor technology at volume. The part is lead-free and supplied in tape and reel. Note that this catalog record marks the resistor RoHS Non-Compliant while also recording it as lead-free; that combination is unusual for a standard thick film chip resistor and should be verified against the manufacturer declaration before it is used in a RoHS-controlled build.

10 k Ohm is the single most-used resistor value in electronics, and a 5% 0402 part such as the WR04X103 JTL is the commodity form of it. It serves as the pull-up on I2C, reset and interrupt lines, as the upper or lower leg of a bias or feedback divider, as a gate or base series resistor, and as the input divider ahead of an ADC channel. The 0402 case is the volume default for consumer, computing, networking and industrial assemblies dense enough that 0603 no longer fits but not so dense that 0201 is required. Parts at this value and tolerance are bought in full reels because a single board design can consume dozens of them.
