The HIP2101IBZT from Renesas is a non-inverting half-bridge gate driver with two outputs, each rated for 2A of drive current. It drives both the high-side and low-side switches of a half bridge and operates from a 9V to 14V supply, drawing a nominal 3mA. The HIP2101IBZT is supplied in an 8-pin SOIC package rated from -40°C to 125°C, with a maximum power dissipation of 550mW.
A half-bridge gate driver converts low-voltage logic signals into the higher-current, level-shifted drive that power MOSFETs need, including the floating gate reference of the high-side switch. The HIP2101IBZT is used in DC-DC converters, class-D audio amplifiers, brushless DC and stepper motor drives, and switched-mode power supplies. Its 2A outputs suit mid-power MOSFETs where fast switching keeps transition losses low. Power electronics engineers designing motor control boards, inverters, and point-of-load converters are the typical users.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
