The STMicroelectronics TN1625-1000G-TR is a standard silicon controlled rectifier from the TN1625 Series, rated for 1kV maximum repetitive reverse voltage (Vrrm) and 16A RMS current. It holds conduction at a 40mA hold current and is rated to a 125°C maximum junction temperature. The SCR is supplied in a 3-pin surface mount D2PAK package on tape and reel. TN1625-1000G-TR is lead free, RoHS compliant, and currently in production.
Silicon controlled rectifiers are used as latching AC and DC power switches, conducting once triggered at the gate and turning off when current falls below the hold threshold. Common applications include phase-angle control of heaters and motors, crowbar overvoltage protection, inrush and soft-start circuits, and switching in appliance and industrial control boards operating from mains voltage. Power electronics designers select 1kV-class SCRs where the device must withstand line transients on 230V and higher supplies.
