The Yageo CC0402KRX7R7BB104 is a 100nF (0.1uF) multilayer Ceramic Capacitor rated at 16V DC with a 10% tolerance, using an X7R dielectric in an 0402 (1005 metric) case. X7R is a Class 2 ceramic held within 15% from -55C to 125C, a wider temperature span than X5R covers, and like all Class 2 ceramics its effective capacitance falls as DC bias is applied. The chip measures 1mm by 508um with a 550um maximum height and is halogen-free, lead-free and RoHS compliant in tape and reel. Note the record carries a 30 ppm/C temperature coefficient, which is a Class 1 (C0G) figure and does not apply to an X7R dielectric.

A 100nF 0402 is the default local decoupling capacitor placed at every IC supply pin, supplying the transient current a digital device draws on each switching edge. X7R rather than X5R is specified when the equipment must operate across the full -55C to 125C span - automotive, industrial, outdoor and aerospace-adjacent builds where an X5R part's 85C ceiling puts it out of specification. The same value is also used for RF bypass, AC coupling on low-frequency signal paths, and filtering on reset, enable and bias lines. The 16V rating leaves useful bias derating headroom on 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails, and boards of any complexity consume this part by the hundred.
