The MT29F16G08ABACAWP-AAT:C is a Micron SLC NAND flash device with 16Gb of density (2GB) organized as 2G x 8 on a parallel interface. It is supplied in a 48-pin TSOP package for surface-mount assembly. As raw NAND, the device relies on the host controller for ECC, wear leveling and bad-block management.

SLC NAND at 16Gb is used where an embedded system needs gigabyte-scale storage that will survive many years of write activity: industrial data loggers, networking equipment with large firmware and configuration stores, automotive recorders, medical devices and set-top boxes. SLC gives roughly an order of magnitude more program/erase cycles than MLC, which is why it is chosen for write-intensive logging rather than read-mostly consumer storage. The 48-pin TSOP package keeps the MT29F16G08ABACAWP-AAT:C compatible with the long-established parallel NAND footprint used across embedded designs.
