The Finisar Corporation FTLC1154RDPL is a 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 optical transceiver for single-mode fiber, supporting link distances up to 10 km at a maximum data rate of 103.1 Gb/s. It transmits at 1310 nm using a distributed feedback (DFB) laser and receives with a PIN photodiode, terminating in a 2-fiber duplex LC connector. The FTLC1154RDPL runs from a 3.3 V supply, is 100G Ethernet compliant, provides digital diagnostic monitoring, and operates from 0 C to 70 C. LR4 modules multiplex four 25G lanes onto four closely spaced wavelengths in the 1310 nm band so a single fiber pair carries the full 100G link.

100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 modules provide the 10 km single-mode links that connect data center buildings and halls, aggregate leaf-spine fabrics across long internal runs, feed metro and campus backbones, and terminate 100G uplinks on routers and core switches. LR4 is chosen over shorter-reach SR4 or PSM4 options when the span exceeds a few hundred meters and over ER4 when 10 km is sufficient, since it uses only a single duplex fiber pair rather than parallel ribbon. Digital diagnostic monitoring lets network operations read optical power and temperature per module for link health and fault isolation.
