The Sony ISX019-AAQV-W is a Type 1/3.8 CMOS image sensor system-on-chip with a 4.69mm diagonal and 1280 x 960 effective pixels, giving 1.23MP of resolution. It uses a 2.9µm pixel pitch and a rolling shutter, and reads out at up to 60fps over a CMOS parallel or MIPI CSI-2 interface. Being a system-on-chip, the ISX019-AAQV-W carries image processing on the same die as the pixel array. It is supplied in a 72-ball BGA package.
An image sensor system-on-chip combines the pixel array with on-chip image signal processing, so it delivers a finished video stream without a separate companion processor and shortens the signal path in a camera module. At 1.23MP and 60fps on a small Type 1/3.8 format, the ISX019-AAQV-W fits compact modules where field of view, latency, and size matter more than pixel count, such as viewing and surround-view cameras, machine vision heads, and embedded camera modules. The MIPI CSI-2 output connects directly to most application processors. Typical buyers are camera-module makers and automotive or industrial vision system integrators.
