The Kioxia KPM7VRUG15T3 is a 15.36TB PM7-R Series enterprise SAS solid state drive in a 2.5-inch form factor, built on 112-layer BiCS 3D TLC NAND. It is rated for sequential reads up to 4200 MB/s and sequential writes up to 4100 MB/s, with 720K random read IOPS and 160K random write IOPS, at 1 DWPD endurance and a 2.5 million hour MTBF. The drive is a self-encrypting drive (SED), draws 5W at idle, and operates from 0C to 70C with a 1000g shock rating. Unlike NVMe, a SAS interface supports dual-port attachment to two independent controllers, which is why SAS remains the interface of choice in dual-controller storage arrays.
