The Nexperia BC817-40-QR is a single NPN bipolar junction transistor supplied in a three-pin SOT-23 surface-mount package. Bipolar junction transistors are current-controlled devices in which base current sets a proportionally larger collector current, so they serve as both switches and small-signal amplifiers.
