The Renesas RC19204AGNL#KB0 is a low-skew clock driver from the RC19204 series with four true outputs, supplied in a 28-pin VQFN measuring 4mm by 4mm at 400um terminal pitch. A clock buffer fans a single clock source out to multiple destinations while holding the skew between its outputs tight, which is what keeps a synchronous system's timing budget intact as the clock is distributed across a board. It operates from a 2.97V to 3.63V supply drawing up to 94 mA, handles output frequencies to 400 MHz with a 1.7 ns propagation delay, provides an SMBus configuration interface, and is rated -40C to 105C. The device is MSL 1 rated and supplied 2500 per reel; note the product title gives the package as PQCC28 against the recorded VQFN, the record holds no output count at all despite the title's four outputs, and REACH SVHC is flagged Yes.

Low-skew clock drivers distribute a single reference to the many devices that must stay synchronous: processors, FPGAs, ASICs, memory controllers and PCIe endpoints on a server or networking board, and the line cards hanging off a common backplane clock. Skew is the parameter that governs selection, because every picosecond of mismatch between outputs comes straight off the setup and hold margin of the interfaces being clocked. An SMBus interface allows output enables and configuration to be set by firmware instead of by strapping resistors, which is what lets a single board design serve several product configurations. Typical users are designers of servers and storage controllers, network switches and routers, telecom line cards and test equipment.

Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
