The BQ76942PFBR is a multicell battery monitor and protector from Texas Instruments supporting 3-series to 10-series cell stacks. It operates from a 4.7V to 55V supply, drawing a nominal 286µA, and is supplied in a 48-pin TQFP package measuring 7mm square. The BQ76942PFBR is rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient operation with a 150°C maximum junction temperature and is RoHS compliant.
A battery monitor and protector measures the voltage of each cell in a series stack along with pack current and temperature, and enforces protection limits against overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and thermal faults. This is mandatory safety and gauging circuitry in any lithium-ion pack, since a series stack cannot be managed by monitoring the pack terminals alone and cells must be balanced to avoid premature capacity loss. A 3-series to 10-series device covers packs in roughly the 12V to 42V nominal range, which spans power tools, e-bikes and light electric vehicles, robotic and warehouse equipment, portable medical devices, and battery energy storage modules. Buyers are battery pack designers and OEMs building their own battery management electronics.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
