The Sony IMX283CQJ-C is a 20-megapixel color CMOS image sensor with a 15.86mm diagonal and 5496 x 3694 effective pixels on a 2.4µm pixel pitch. It reads out over a MIPI interface at up to 22fps in a 16:9 aspect ratio and supports a variable-speed shutter. As a CMOS sensor it integrates pixel array and readout on one die, which is what enables the high pixel count in a compact 118-pin LGA package. Supply voltages span 1.1V to 2.9V, with a maximum operating frequency of 27M Hz.

A large-format 20MP sensor with a 2.4µm pixel is aimed at applications that need both resolution and light-gathering area: industrial machine vision and inspection, high-resolution security and city surveillance cameras, broadcast and cinema capture, microscopy, and aerial or drone imaging.
