The TB9054FTG(EL) from Toshiba is an AEC-Q100 rated H-bridge motor driver with SPI control, supplied in a 40-terminal wettable-flank QFN package with a 500µm terminal pitch. It operates from a 4.5V to 28V supply and delivers a maximum output current of 6.5A, drawing up to 8.5mA of supply current. The TB9054FTG(EL) measures 6mm by 6mm with a maximum seated height of 1mm and is rated from -40°C to 125°C.
An H-bridge drives a DC motor in both directions by switching which side of the winding connects to the supply and which to ground, and adding PWM to the same switches sets the speed. The TB9054FTG(EL) is built for automotive actuation, driving window lifts, sunroofs, seat and mirror adjusters, HVAC flaps, pumps, and throttle or valve actuators. Its SPI interface lets the host ECU configure the driver and read back diagnostics such as fault and current status rather than relying on discrete pins. Wettable flanks on the QFN package allow automated optical inspection of solder joints, which automotive manufacturing lines typically require.
